Canada Tore off my Trailer Light assembly

Has anyone got a solution for replacing the trailer light wiring (plug) ???(under the rear bumper)

Just came back from a hunting excursion and while trying to load a big whitetail into my truck, I backed into a rock and pretty much crushed the light (plug) assembly.

I think it is mounted too low, as I know of at least 2 other guys who ripped this off the bumper when 4 wheeling.

I think it should be mounted higher (maybe within the bumper?

Any thoughts on this?

BTW My Tacoma ran great to Saskatchewan, in -26 degree weather........tons of snow.....backroads and icy highways...........4000 Km this trip..........
Got the best whitetail of my life...........................))

I can't remember who it was but there was someone on here that moved that plug into the bumper taking the place of one of the lights for the li plate... I tried looking for him but the search doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment...

lots of luck

Nice animal. Northern white tails are amazing compared to their fair weather brothers here in Texas. Yours are more on par with a mule deer down here.
Here is my axis buck in the back of my dad's chevy.

I'm definitely doing that to mine before I go up to Paragon this Saturday. When I went out with Bob(Taco5) to Wharton I bashed mine up pretty good. Luckily I only bent it backwards an inch and didn't actually damage it.

Buy a new 7-pin from walmart or where ever, cut the stock wires as close to the stock plug as possible, strip the ends of the wires and follow the color code with the new plug for hooking it back up.

As for where to put it, I drilled a hole next to my license plate (through the bumper) and used some self taping screws to bolt it in place. It's out of the way and works perfectly. Will try to find a pic later. Someone else on here did it too and that's where I got the idea.

Edit: And here they are:
