Tacoma bed size

Thinking about trading my tundra for a tacoma, but I need a bed that will hold 4x8 sheets of plywood between the wheel wells. Is this impossible?

With any Tacoma, you won't be able to fit a 4x8 sheet of anything between the wheel wells.

Won't fit. I sold my T-100 that would take a 4X8' sheet of plywood between the wheelwells for a 2007 Tacoma access cab with the 6' bed. It is set up with recessed areas in front and back where you can place a 2X6 or maybe a 2X8 across and load full sheets of plywood or sheetrock that will ride just over the wheelwells. Got my 2X6's fitted and going down Saturday to pick up a sheet of plywood. Do miss the T-100 in that respect though.

Prerunner, double cab, access cab, single cab, it dosent matter. There are only 2 beds with the Tacoma and neither will fit a 4 x 8 sheet of anything between the wheel wells.

If you use 1x instead of 2x the top of it will be flush with that ridge and the top of the wheelwells. I use 2x also, though. But mine are just 2x4, because that's what I had spare in the shop.

I really didn't want to part with my tundra anyway...........what is the point of having a truck that can't fit anything 4ft wide. Some of these trucks today are only good for hauling 2 quarts of oil.........

That way if the oil spills it doesn't ruin the carpet, because it's in the bed of the truck.

Because my DC can fit 5 people and still have more cargo area than an SUV. And anything that won't fit laying down flat stands on edge and get's rachet strapped in place with up to 3 straps since I added 4 extra d-rings.

Or the leading edge of the board/table/etc sits on the wheel wells and the trailing edge goes over the top of the tailgate.

I don't see a problem here....

Why were you "thinking about trading your tundra for a tacoma" if you "really didn't want to part with the tundra anyway"? The Tacoma may not be an accomplished work truck (neither is the Tundra) but we can haul 2 quarts of just as well as you and look better doing it.

Whatever, you Tundra is just as lame as all the other 'pickup' trucks.

Whats the point of having a truck if you can't haul 70,000 lbs in the bed. My Catapiller dump truck is a real truck. Your tundra is a pebble in my bed.

Why base getting a truck on that fact alone? how often do you haul plywood? how much? Ive hauled it quite a bit and just agle it towards the cab resting on the tailgate.

Hey guys, don't you get it? It is his attempt to say mine is bigger than yours. Obvious overcompensation for feelings of inadequacy.
