Question power steering

I just recently purchased a 2007 access cab tacoma w/ v6, trd off-road package. I am having a slight issue with the power steering. When I leave it sit for a while, then drive it, the steering is kind of jerkish. it is like the power sttering is going in and out real fast. once i drive it after roughly a 1/4 mile, it goes away. sometimes there is a whining noise that goes with it that lingers on after the steering issue goes away. it has been cold out and I am not sure if that is the problem. it still does it even after i first start it up and let it warm up for around 5 minutes. anbody else having this issue or have any advice/input?

i suggest taking it to the dealership. figure out about how long the truck has to sit before the problem occurs and make sure you leave the truck with the dealership for long enough for them to experience the problem.

Sounds like an issue with the power steering pump I would have the dealer check that out. Might be air in the system or something of that nature or it could just be a faulty pump.

You bleed the system by rotating the steering wheel lock to lock several times.I would check the fluid level first.Might save you a trip.
