x-runner's front air dam

i was thinking today after a 4hr road trip that an airdam at freeway speed may increase mpg's... anybody know if the x's airdam would fit my prerunner without modification? are there any aftermarket sources for such, or only toyota? mine's a street truck, plenty of clearence for rhe occasional bumps i may go over.

When droppedmytaco converted his regular cab into a XR. I don't think he had any problems with the front.

It is not going to fit without modification. First you will need to cut holes all across the front of your bumper. Second the prerunner flares are wider than the XR flares. The front spoiler is molded to snap into the flare and it will not snap into the prerunner flare. You will need to either cut and modify the spoiler or your flares.

As far as getting better mileage it didn't make a difference on my truck. My truck has averaged around 23-24 from the day I bought it til today. I made a 2,000 mile trip in my truck (without kit) and averaged 23 MPG at an average speed of about 75. One tank of gas I kept the speed around 60 and got 31 MPG. I made another trip around 800 miles (with kit) and averaged the same speed and still got 23 MPG. So the best way to increase mileage is to slow down.

Here is a pic of an XR with the spoiler off. See how the front flare has a slot in it for the spoiler to snap into. It is also shorter than the prerunner flare.(it doesn't wrap all the way to the bottom of the bumper.)

Here is the thread this pic came from http://customtacos.com/forum/showthr...t=70415&page=5
