Changing Bulbs

Guys....I'm changing my bulbs and am wondering

1) did you unhook the negative on the battery?
2? how do you get the stock bulb out? do you have to pull that rubber guard off???
3) I want to compare the stock and aftermarket lights...can I try one in each side at the same time???

please help me...for I want to blind others tonight

1 ) no i did not unhook the battery and had no problems

2 ) you have to unplug the bulb then pull the rubber guard off then unlatch the wire spring thing and the bulb comes right out ( just be careful to not touch the bulb with your hands because of the oils on it will shorten the lifespan i reccomend wearing latex gloves just so you dont have to worry about it)

3 ) yes you can just install one bulb at a time to compare brightness

Good luck its very easy to do though

1. Nope. I didn't bother.

2. It's a lot easier to do with the headlight assembly off the truck, but that's sort of a pain in the ass itself. As I recall, all you have to do is unhook the wiring, remove that rubber boot, undo the retaining clip, and pop out the bulb. Do exactly the reverse to put the new bulb in, being careful not to touch the bulb yourself. I used latex gloves just to be on the safe side.

3. Yes. I did this myself.

1) no
2) yes, then release the wire retaining clip
3) yes

Free advice -- do not touch the bulb glass. If you do, wipe it off with alcohol.

And we know you are kidding about blinding people tonight. If not, humor us and say you're kidding anyway. We don't want to think you're an idiot.

The owners manual has some good pics that show how it's done.

Another great example of why everyone should RTFM. Sorry, it's a bit late for me and I need my sleep....
