hellomaxx6 with spacer?

okay so i went down to 4wheel parts to get 3'' spacer lift and i set of hellomaxx6 rims in 17" but they tell me i can only run an 8'' wide rim without problems and the 17's only come in 9''. so i decided to go with 16x8 but they tell me the backspacing is not gonna work so these rims wont work. what the.... does anybody have a set up like this? i really want these rims help me. or give me some suggestions on some sick rims that would fit.

17x9 Helo Maxx 6s will fit on the Tacoma, with proper backspacing of 4.5" or -12 offset.

The shop you are at is smoking crack.

16s won't fit on the Tacoma due to the brake caliper.

I am running 18x9's with a 285 tire not lifted with no problems. Find another tire/wheel place.

i purchased the 2.5 inch procomp spacer lift for the front from 4 wheel parts and installed it with 265/75/16 BFG MT and there is no problem at all, i also have a friend with an 05 tacoma that put on 16x10 wheels with the spacers and he has no problems so maybe the guy you were talking to was an idiot
