Unhappy Problem with rearend?

So yesterday i was driving the truck in rain and it spun the tires quite a bit on the onramp to freeway. It feels about normal loss of traction and then it starts to skipp a bit and i let off the gas to gain traction again. After that, i shift to 3rd and keep going. I noticed that right after that everytime i am in lower gears (1,2,3) and i let off the gas it makes a clunking in the back somewhere, didn't really notice as much in 4,5,6 though. In first and sencond if not letting off gas it will do the clunk a little. Anyone have idea of what this could be and what could have caused it?

I looked at everything underneath, suspension and all look normal. Nothing is out of place or anything. I have read about some problems with rear end in 05's so i kind of thoguht mine could be that but not sure. I was thinking maybe somethign to do with tranny but then i keep feeling the clunk from the back.

Whatever the problem is, I REALLY hope if can be covered under warranty or an easy fix.

Thanks ahead of time for any ideas, comments or sugestions of what to do.

If you are really hard on your truck, your rear end could be going out. If you have a limited slip (which I don't think you do), then it could be that kicking in...

Yea, i will admit i do drive the truck hard at times but not constantly everytime i drive it.

I'm wondering if i should take it to a shop to have them look at it or just take directly to dealer. I don't want them to charge me to take look at it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

On ttora they have a sticky about rear end failure. The ring and pinion gears. I think it was the rear end with the locker.

I would take it to the dealer if its underwarranty, but be advised, at looking at the pic of your truck, they can easily say that your aftermarket rims/tires caused too much strain. If you still have the stockers, put them back on before you go in.

I would guess that any time you lose traction with those big ole wheels and tires, odds are good that something might break.
