More specifically... let's talk about and SEE some rock slider options for our trucks. I know Demello and All-Pro make some. Others? I'm interested in how far from they body they stick out... welded or bolt-on, pros and cons... etc...
Now that I have made up my mind on wheels and tires, and should be ordering the lift on Monday, sliders will be the next order of business!

Nice! Those are what I am going to go with. How hard was it to drill through the frame?
thanks.. to be honest with you.. it was a pain in the @$$! It took, I would say, about 2 hr's total and 3 drill bits to finally drill all 6 holes (8 are needed, but there are already two there for you). These new Tacoma's use some really hardened steel.
I prefer the bolt ons because in case you really mess them up or just need to be repainted, or need warranty work on the frame (hope that last part never happens) you can simply take them off.

I agree, and they look sweet and have more than enough strength!
Your website is cool. What front bumper did you put on? It looks nice!

Thanks again..
They definitely have more than enough strength. I've landed on them a few times already.
I have the All Pro front bumper on it now. I love the look of it and it's plenty strong. Plus it gives you alot more clearance to the front tires for coming up on things like boulders. I had the bumper powder coated before I installed it.

You need a better drill. Th drill I got after the frame destroyed my other drill, ate thru the frame like candy.
I need to get me some sliders as well. I didn't need them on Saturday but, it would of been nice knowing they were there if I had needed them. Getting bolt on after seeing what they can take yesterday.
Does anyone know what diameter tubing they are using, and what the thickness is? Also if you know that , what is the thickness of the metal plates used for the mounting brackets.
Thanks! I will be fabbing my own sliders in the next month. (lots of rain = truck time)
I wanted to make some like demello's Stone Crushers since I could buy the steel needed for around $100. A lot cheaper than buying them already assembled, but I haven't gotten that far yet. Maybe with a barn to work in I'll get to it this summer.

Finally ripped the video from the DVD that my friend made and pulled all the good action stuff into a "small" video clip. You can check out the video here:
Warning, it's about 36mb (wanted to keep the quality good) so it's not for dial-up. Let me know what you guys think. There are a few shots in the video of the sliders being used. Landed on them a couple times and they held up fine .
EDIT: Looks like it's still UL to the server. I'll update this post once it's done.
EDIT 2: Okay, it's finished uploading the .mov file. Ready to check it out now...
Oh.. and ignore the squeaky UCAs .. It was hot and dusty

it's only $200 for the DO DIY sliders. then all you have to do is weld 'em up. prolly well worth the extra $100 you'd spend in just metal
