Truck surged ahead when stopping

The other day I was getting off the interstate on an off ramp. When I was coming to a stop at the light I was breaking kind of hard and the truck surged ahead just before it stopped. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Maybe it was the ABS kicking in just before the wheels started to lock. This is my first vehicle with ABS. Any ideas?

I dont know if I can explain this right but here it goes---

I was told the under hard braking the body flex between the cab and bed of the truck. When you let up on the brake under hard braking you will get the "surged ahead" thing you talked about. I had the same thing happen a few times and took my taco into the dealer and thats what I was told.

if you started to lock up the rear tires i would say it was most likely the abs kicking. but you should have felt it in the brake peddle if that is the case

This is common. It has happened to me, too. Do a search for it, b/c I believe it was here that we talked about it..

Did you have the AC on? That's the only time I've noticed my truck surging.
