Did Toyota really come out with the TRD in Impulse Red? Is it only for the Access trim or Double Cab as well? I really like the color matched grill, mirrors, and bumper. That hood scoop looks sharp too. Do you guys like the TRD in this color?
They've had the TRD Offroad in the Impulse Red but not the TRD Sport. This is definitely a photo fo the sport though. Looks good!

This was my first color choice and I initially looked everywhere for it. I had a few dealers tell me, "Sure, you can get the sport in impulse red." Well after some research i discovered you can't. If this is true, I'm seriously considering trading in my 06 silver, for an 07 red.
Just tried to "build my own" on the Toyota website and when I tried to include the TRD sport option, it told me that it's not available with impulse red. The pic must be a photoshop. darn it.
My old truck was impulse red. Loved that colour. Had they had that colour when I bought my truck I may have went that way over black, at the time they only had that fire engine red colour (not sure of the real name) which was a little to bright for my tastes. I think the impulse red is one of Toyota's best colours, and it looks way better in person.

yeah it actually took some doing for the dealer to locate a TRD offroad access cab in impulse red for me back in January. i like the color but if i had it to do over again i would have gotten a sport model instead......i didnt do my research to figure out the differences are minimal and i would have liked the color keyed bumper, mirror and hood scoop
Have your dealer check again - my buddy at work (a well established car guy, enough so that I trust that he knows what he sees) just a couple of days ago told me he saw one. The only reason he mentioned it was that he had never seen a Sport in that color so it caught his eye. I commented that I had never seen one either. I didn't know until I read this thread that it wasn't offered -- so he either is mistaken in what he saw (highly unlikely,) he saw an OR or SR5 that someone stuck a scooped hood and color-matched grill and handles on (possible,) or Toyota is starting to offer it (equally possible.)
Just for grins, use some different zip codes when doing the build your own - a lot of times when Toyota brings in a new option they trickle it into certain market areas before going all out -- we found that with a certain type of door sill protectors back in '05 that were only available in some places, but then trickled out to everywhere in '06 (I think it was on this forum where we waded through that.) I think I remember a similar situation with the mechanical LSD on non-sport/xr trucks, but it didn't split a year model. It just was available in some areas at the beginning of '06, but took a few months for people other places.

I'm with you. I was all excited about this. I even started a "wish list" of options I want to get on my new car, and I've barely had my Tacoma 10 months!!! Oh well.
I contacted toyota to ask about the 2007 TRD Sport Impulse Red truck on their website. This is their response:
