The best I ever got in my DC SB 4.0 was 24 mpg. Even that was cruising at 65 mph on the interstate for a whole tank.

maybe he did the math and got 21 but when he went to read it, he thought it was a 27, LOL. geez, i get 17mpg when i'm not carefull and 21 was my best ever. I don't even think a 4cyl tacoma gets 27-30mpg right?

He said he went to vegas from here (tustin, ca) after filling up 10 gallons of gas.

I think what really happened was, he topped it off within 10 gallons and made it all the way to Vegas (which is 263 miles from here), doesn't matter where the needle was at, as long as the light didn't come on.

a 4cyl wont even see that unless it is a reg cab and non prerunner or 4X4.

the sticker for a 2.7L 4 Cyl says : 23/28
but this most definately excludes; PreRunners, 4X4's, and Access Cabs.
