Who's running aftermarket shocks with their 3" lift. Looking at OME shocks from Toytec. If I do it should I do front & rear, or just front? Is it worth it? Any chance it will reduce rubbing of my 285's?

Thanks! I guess I should have thought of that while I was searching & reading through dozens of posts looking for the answer to my questions!?! Stupid me!!! I thought on a forum you could ask questions and get "helpful" advice. I'm sorry I wasted your precious time.

well you asked a simple question that has been covered and answered many times. you've been in this forum long enough to know to search.
oh, but you want to be lazy and have somebody else do the work for you so here is an answer. depending on the height of your rear lift, you will need new shocks. regardless of what lift you decide to go with, your shocks will be prematurely worn out so you will have to replace them sooner anyways.
Getting the OME Nitros up front will not reduce any rubbing. They will not lift it any more than it is already lifted. They will provide a much smoother ride. If you do the front, you might as well do the rear at the same time. If not, going over speedbumps at any kind of speed will hurt.

+1 ^ I like my nitros.

I'm gonna delete the WTB posts after a few more amusing responses. I'm really pissed because when I opened my box of take-off stock parts, saw that fatboy torched the tops of mine to take them off.
Had two pms....guys wanted $75 & $100 shipped. Can buy new pair shipped for $75 from trdparts4u.
Thanks again....nice truck....and best to you and yours.

learn to do some research on your own.
Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions.
It's my opinion that if you look @ a thread and you don't want to respond, for whatever reason, then just don't respond. I spent a hour reading through past posts and didn't feel that I found the answers I was looking for. So, then I simply asked for help. I thought that was the idea of a forum.
In the time it took to accuse me of "not searching" you could have simply supplied some helpful info or just moved on to the next post.
If I'm wrong, then I'm sorry. I may of just missed what I was looking for. But I don't see the need of every time someone has a question that may have been covered before that they should have to spend an hour searching through back posts, when they could just ask and get the answer in 5 min. Your sitting, chatting on the computer. It's not like your to busy to answer a simple question.
Anyway, thanks everyone for your help.

I didn't respond because McGrimm and tooblu basically answered your question(s). First, a maximum of 2-1/2" front lift is recommended unless you do the differential drop. Second, you didn't state exactly where you're rubbing. There's the pinchweld mod, spacers, wheelhouse surgery, cab mount/frame cutting, etc. to address those problems.
It's always better to go with a complete system than to do a grrrranimals lift.
Finally, what's the big deal between 2-1/2" and 3" front lift....it's insignificant. You want to impress someone do a 6" lift.
I don't know anyone on the board who's unwilling to answer questions....you just got to ask a complete question and not require others to pry the info out of you piecemeal.
