First trip to the beach this year!

Well as I've been telling a lot of people about how I go out to the beach in the truck all the time. Everyone calls me a wussy because it's not "Real Off-Roading" but it's actually pretty tough here in the sand because it's really REALLY coarse which means it's really soft and you sink a good 5 to 6 inches into the sand. In fact the sand is so soft that when you go over certain bumps in the sand that the truck bottoms out...not on the bumpstops but on the sand itself. I could hear the skid plate scraping and scooping up sand. You wouldn't be able to make it out there without 4WD at all. In fact I forgot to turn 4WD on at the begining of the trip and even with my tires down to 14 psi I got stuck within 10 feet of entering the sand. Once I flipped the switch though it yanked itself out. We went riding and for the first bit 4Hi was fine and then once we got 2 miles out onto the beach I had to stick it in 4Lo for the next 3 miles to the spot where we were setting up and swimming. I should have got some better pics but I unfortunatley forgot to bring my camera and had to use my cousins camera to take these pics. On the way back I took the gnarly route through the woods which was great...the path was so narrow I had to fold the mirrors in to make it through the entire path without scraping them off it was litterally like driving between two hedge rows with litterally inches to spare for at least 3 miles. I had to go like 5mph the whole way it was fun

Anyways enjoy the pics.

Me and my little cousins

P.S. Does anybody know the best way to get that sticker off my bumper...the guy fucking put it on their without asking me first and now I'm not gonna be able to peel it off the normal way with a razor. I was pissed and I let him know it too...he said to try a hairdryer. It doesn't expire till next April but when it does I want to peel it off because I hate excess stickers on my truck.

Beach

If your'e ever in Texas, try Padre Island. Jut from looking at your pictures it looks alot worse than the beach you were at. It is about 30 miles of off-roading for 4X4's only. I did the same thing you mentioned and drove into it in 2 wheel, immediately getting stuck. Put it in 4 wheel and cruised through it. I actually got myself wedged between two sand hills and had to have a Jeep guy help me rock out of it. The truck did great, the driver- not so well.

I only took one pic though, sorry.

Looks cool man. For the sticker, just rip off all that you can and then start scrubbing with goo gome. Should come off.

Driving in the sand, your mud flaps help to get you stuck, the sand just kicks up on it and barries your tire because it can't clear out since there soooooooooo long. You can already see it in the picture that your dragging your flaps .

haha I know, I don't care I rather not have paint chips. I haven't gotten stuck yet except the one part where I forgot to put it in 4WD and then once I hit the switch it immediately pulled itself out.

Well i live on the gulf coast of Texas and I have never gotten stuck. I take my truck to the beach at least once every three months. The funny thing if i have street tires and i have gotten close to getting stuck, but just floored it and got out before i dug in too deep. I feel sorry for the people i flung that sand on though......

I rarely ever wish I had gotten a 4x4. I got stuck the other night at a party. I parallel parked on the side of a street on an empty lot. Once I got out, I saw there was water all under me, and I said to my buddy "I'm prob gonna get stuck when I leave." And when I got back in the car to leave... I got my ass stuck. So I just rocked myself out (put in drive then reverse, back into drive, etc.) I finally got myself out after about 10 rocks. But I think I woke up the whole neighborhood with my intake... I just know that if I got a 4x4, I'd fuck it up some how.

Just use a hair dryer or a heat gun to peel the sticker off. Then use lighter fluid to remove the residue.

Nice beach pics by the way.
