Aftermarket Tow package for 07 Taco? (for pulling a 19' boat)

Gents,

I'd like to gear up my SR5 double cabe short bed auto Taco to pull this beauty.

http://www.nitroboats.com/boat/index.cfm?boat=2132

It doesn't have a tow package now and am looking at what I'll need to pull this boat.

I'm in Texas and will pull for up to 5 hours on a Louisiana trip so Im sure I want the transmission and oil coolers.

Probable a class III hitch wold be fine. (would it?)

how about the Alternator?

Everything will be stock and the only additional load will be the trailer and its surge breaks.

Do you guys think 90 amps will get it? How much power do trailer lights and brakes consume?

You don't need transmission coolers to pull that boat. A class III hitch and the stock alternator will work fine. Just throw on the hitch, plug it up and you will be fine.

Ya man, you should be fine. I just pulled my 19 foot boat for about two hours today. Even with the bigger tires and stock brakes and transmission, I had no problem. Here a picture. Looks to be about the size of the boat you have the link to.

You will be fine with just a hitch and wiring, you could pull that with a car.

No need to worry about alternator, nothing to draw power except the lights which the stock circuits could handle. Boat trailers generally have hydraulic surge brakes.

I know the boat isnt a saltwater boat but the wife and kids wanted a joy riding boat that I can also use for fishing. a center console just wouldn't get it.

Looks like you have the TRD. Do you find the limited slip makes a big difference getting the boat out of the water?

Mind doesn't have limited slip.

Don't really know, but today, I went to a different lake and the ramp was extremely steep. I didn't know if the taco could pull the boat out, but it was awesome. Performed like a champ. When driving on the around, it takes a while to accelerate but holds its own. Only gets like 12mpg when pulling the boat.
