The amber "maint reqd" (maintenance required) light came on once I rolled over 5000 miles. I did the oil/filter change myself at about 4750 miles, so that about covers it. How do I turn that idiot light off? Anyone know???
Thanks a bunch...

Turn the key to the on position without actually starting the engine.
Then press and hold the mileage button in the gauge cluster untill the numbers clear (about 20 seconds)
Then keep the button pressed and crank the engine.....
lets go of the button....Thats it!!
bummer, tried it 3x, didn't work. Tried it pushing the button in when in odometer mode, Trip A mode and in regular (how many miles are on the truck) mode. Nothing. It's probably me; I'm admittedly retarded when it comes to this stuff, but it pisses me off to have to go by the dealership and spend an hour while they dick around just to shut the darn light off.

Put your key in the ignition, leave it in the off position. Hold in the reset Tac button, turn your key one spot to the accessory position. You should see you tacometer blink, turn to - - - - - and then to zero. Once it does that, let go of the button. Start up your truck, and the maint req light should go away.
