URD O2 Simulators

When using the URD O2 sims, do you have to have two (one for each sensor) or does one work for both?

Also, wen the O2 sims trick the ECU into thinking everything is okay, do you still have to have the CEL reset or will it reset itself?

Thanks guys.

from my understanding if you put in the o2 sim before you actually run the vehicle you wont ever get a check engine light(CEL) caused from the o2's but if you install them after you already getting a CEL you can install it erase the code and then the code wont come up agiain, im guessing your planning on getting the C2C long tubes?

I'm planning on eventually getting the C2C headers. But right now, I have my rear cats removed and tripped a CEL. I would get a scangauge, but I've only got about $400 and I want the URD MAF calibrator too.

Can anyone confirm firsthand that you only need one O2 sim? If not, I'll just wait till they come back from vacation to order.

i already oredered my long tubes so i am looking at the o2 sims also but i have a scanguage so codes are no big deal, but you can also go to any autozone and they can clear codes for free or just look in the pepboys ad's and you can get a code reader for like 15 bucks on sale

Removing your resonators tripped a CEL? Mine didn't..the shop you got it done at didn't mess up the O2 sensor did they?

wait a second now that i think about it you shouldnt have got a code from removing the second set of cats or resonators because the o2 sensor in front of them throws the code light and the o2 behing the second set of cats manages engine control, so if im correct in all that the code must be from something else. Did you fill up on gas and forget to click the cap a couple times? thats a very common CEL that gets thrown all the time

I always click the cap at least 50 trillion times. It's like OCD or something.

The shop didn't mess with the O2 sensor, I checked it out.

I didn't do any other mods at the same time or even within months of removing the cats.

The CEL came on the day after I had the cats removed.

If it's something else, I'll find out at O'Reilly tomorrow when I get them to check it out.

You might want to check and make sure all the sensors are plugged in and tightened down. Since you had cutting/welding around the sensors, you may want to pull them out to see that there is no debris on them them.

I pulled one of mine out and replaced with a wideband sensor and it threw a code after about an hour of driving. Once I was done with the wideband, I reinstalled the stocck sensor and cleared the code with ScanGuage...CEL hasn't come back since.

Both sensors can throw codes. Front sensor controls air/fuel, rear sensor checks to see if the cat is working.
