Well I finally got them wired. They're running off the stock head unit, but until I get an aftermarket one, this will have to do. The mod still isnt completely done, I just wanted them up and running by this weekend since I'm going camping. Some things I need to do are taping them down (they're just loose now), maybe adding some vaseline to the wires (to make sure they're waterproof underneath), and possibly making some drain holes toward the back of the speaker mount.
Well, here goes some video clips
In the first video, I walk into my car, turn the music on (in cab) for a while, then turn on the bed speakers. You can faintly hear the music with the bed speakers off, then with a flip of a switch, voila
They sound pretty good. Nice idea...but your in-cab is SO loud it makes it seem like those speakers just suck cause they don't seem just blaring for how loud in cab sounds...
I love the idea, but It would definately take some fine tuning to get it really useful...which might mean a switch in the bed to turn them on and off...or something...not sure

i didnt intend to make this speakers super loud, just something to listen to while camping, tailgating, etc. I overexaggerated the volume so that it would pick up on the camera. I admit that these little speakers aren't te best, but it might change once i get an aftermarket HU and a small amp for it.
And about the switch, something about me, I just wanted the switch to be indash, just like the other switches I have (i.e. for the bed lights). i dont know, it's just me.
Thanks for the input though

come on dude, i dont ever tell anyone to take anything off their truck. It's their truck and can do anything they want to it. i dont really appreciate you telling me what to do to mine. If you don't like it, you dont like it, that's fine. But I think you could have definately said something a little more appropriate and still got your point accross. No hard feelings, just for your future reference.
How the hell did you wire them without an amp? Bridged off the factory HU? Nice write up and pics but could you give me more info on the wiring please.
No, I'm a government employee. The County Commissioners walk by my desk every once in a while.

lol. I work for local government, so unless you live in clark county, you have no need to worry. Work is really slow in summertime, so I just sit and wait for stuff to come in.
Oh, and sorry for the knock on the nuts, they are a matter of preference.
I do like the bed speaker mod, that's pretty sweet. I may consider doing that for the drive-in/camping. I have never used the pockets for anything else due to confusion about what they are for.
