Canada Rust oleum the under carriage of the taco??

I live here in Canada and I have a few light rust spots on my frame and diff.....should I spray it down with some rust killer (primer) and then it up the spots with some rustoleum or just leave it??? I have the digital rust modual on it but the rust was there before I bought it used....
I want to keep it forever so I figure it would be worth the effort, what do you think??

I've been thinking the same thing. Mine is a year and a half old, bought it new, and has a few rust spots on the frame around the rear wheels. At least that's what I've noticed so far.

There's a spray that converts the rust back to metal so you can paint it. PB used it I think. Can't remember what it's called. Maybe someone else remembers.

I used self leveling brush on hammerite to paint my frame. I live in Hawaii (surrounded by salt water) and have no rust on my frame (96 taco). I think it looks good and so do most of the people that notice it. Id do it again on my next one, but I think the wife wants me to get the undercoating.

I'm using rustolium on my rock sliders, since they came unpainted. Used primer grey, then metalic silver, and a clear coat. Still working on them, but they look decent. I'd say if your gona use the stuff take a wire brush to the rust to clean the area, then wipe it down and black primer then color match it with the rustolium.

If you have ANY rust, treat it with POR15 first, then paint it. it is well worth doing. Also, look into undercoating it with asphalt out of a spray can.
