I am installing Hella 500's and would like to wire them so that I can either turn them on by themselves and also have it so that I can control them with the headlights( ie. have them turn on with the brights and off with the dims)
I believe you would just wire them independtly with an on-off switch. All you need to do is run the power to wherever you plan on getting power from and run the ground to the switch and then to the ground. No need for an on-off-on because you just need to be able to turn them on whenver you want

Just out of curiosity, where are you going to mount them? I don't see a light bar in your sig. I've been thinking of some way to mount a pair, but I don't want the traditional light bar hanging off the front of the truck. I wish the Taco was like my old Passport. It had a steel brace directly under the plastic skin of the bumper.

look into the N-fab or I believe it's the all-pro one...both come out of the lower grill so its less noticable...might be what your looking for

If you have a grillcraft or billet grill, you can mount some lights behind the grill. It won't work if you have a stock grill.
I wonder how much light output the Grill Craft cuts down on? I thought about doing the same thing, but am concerned that the light output wouldn't be what it could. Also, does it do anything to the pattern of the light?
Edit: How much spacing do you have between the grill and the lenses (or is it basically touching)?
I did search and I did see this diagram. My understanding of this (which is limited) is that it is for using the fog light switch, which doesn't allow you to turn them off if the high beams are on. I would like to be able to have them OFF (all of the time) or ON (all of the time) or ON (only with the brights)

I mounted the lights to the bottom of the grill frame. It's a very easy install. You only have to drill one hole for each light. Only the top of the light touches the grill.
I'm not sure about the light output since I don't have them wired yet.
