Sand paper

ok so here's the deal, i took some 2000 grit sandpaper and wet sanded some sratches on the clear coat. The thing is that the scratches went away but now there's this lil fuzzy area that i duno how to buff out, is there any sand paper that i can buy that will polish it back to clear??????????? Like an automotive 4k grit?? i was sanding my sliders after i put some clear gloss pray on them, and though hell why not try it to get some scratches off the truck. It looked fine, and clear when it was wet, but then when it tried you can see the cloudiness

You need to rub it out with rubbing compound, and then use your favorite polish. This should take care of it.

Orbital buffer and heavy cut polish, then fine cut polish.

use scratch X it will take a little bit of time but you will get it. keep rubbing it in and buffing it off. Hopefully you didnt go through the clear. post some pics.

This is a good excuse to just buy yourself a Porter Cable 7424 buffer and pads.

3M Liquid rubbing compound (Fine Cut) than polish. If you have a buffer, use it, if not elbow grease will get you there eventually.

Ok i fixed it, medium grade rubbing compound from turtle wax, then scratch x. the 2000 grit wet sand removed the scratch on the clear coat but left a cloud area where i sanded, it didn't go through the clear coat but i was freaked out when i saw the aftermath.

This is the scratch removed and the cloud

This is what it looked like then it was wet.

Look almost clear. i don't have the fixed picture but trust me my friends couldn't even tell i had a scratch where i fixed it. I had to remind them of the once 13 inch scratch i had on the clear coat.

This is a crude method and i freaked out when i saw the cloud on the clear coat. I'll post a pic tomorrow when there is light, but if you want to try this do at your own risk.
