upgrading speakers

I want to up grade the factory speakers for a little better sound. I plan on just keeping the stock head unit and not adding any thing further than that. My question should I just go with stand alone speakers in the front door only and disconnect the rears. And if so should I go 6x9 or will I get better sound from a 7 or 8 inch round speaker in the front door. Also what adapter kits would I need. I have been researching past threads but nothing really seems clear.

Thanks for all your help

round speakers supposedly produce a better sound.

Tacotunes.com makes adapters

Lots of people say the Pinoneer PRS 2700 (or 270, cant remember) are great speakers and can be had cheap online.

The pioneer TS-C720PRS spearkers are the best. Mr. Marv makes custom baffles for them.
