Well, seeing as how PA has barely any legal wheeling spots now that Paragon closed down, I finally headed up and over to Rausch Creek. My initial reaction of the park was kind of iffy, but after heading back for the day, I love the way it is set up. All the trails end up leading somewhere unlike Paragon. It seems like at Paragon you had to go up one trail, turn around, go back down the same trail and then get back on the main road to go to another one. Not the same with Rausch. They had a main road/trail leading through the entire park and each trail looped back onto it.
Now we only hit up the stock (Green) trails yesterday, but wow, were some of them really tricky. The first one we went on, we needed a spotter just to get into the trail. My tow hitch took one nasty hit going through the washout to get in, but other than that I sustained no damage!
Now onto my additional impressions of the Tacoma. I really really wish there was a gear between L and 2 while in 4LO. 2 was too fast going down steep decents and L was too dang slow. Regardless it was nice not to have to ride the breaks at all in 4LO low. I finally got to make real good use of the locker though. There were several tight, washed out sections on the trail that a locker made absolutely easy. I was behind the rest of the group which was mostly stock vehicles and they had one hell of a time on some parts and I just walked on through with the locker engaged.
Here are the pictures...unfortunately not many of me yet. Still had a good time though!
Picture of me, Joe (Beat up 4Runner, and Jordan)
My favorite picture, me sitting shotgun with Joe on Camel Back (A Black course concurred by an IFS 4Runner on 33s)
And finally the washout Joe and Jordan were playing in. At one point Jordan was completely dragging his passenger side:
