Touch Switch

Well phase 1 of my touch switch is complete. Sorry I won’t have pictures till the 4th (no camera). I built a 4 channel touch switch. The "buttons" are located in one of the plastic switch locations. Each channel will control some lights inside the truck. One controls the front foot well lights, another controls the LED's in the front cup holders and another one will control the back foot well lights, and the last switch is yet to be determined.

So phase one is complete which includes installing the control board and the cup holder LED"s.

Phase two will include installing the foot well lights.

I will add pictures and maybe some video of the thing working on the 5th of July. I think this is the first time something like this has been done in a Taco.

I felt bad about not posting pics, so I got my old crappy camera to work and here are a few teasers.

The touch switch is something I built myself, as you will see in the pictures. I designed the circuit board and then had it made, that is why it looks professional.

These are two circuit boards, one is of the top view and the other is the bottom view of the same board.

This is the "switch" there are for buttons. Each "button" you just touch to activate something in the truck, i.e. the top button activates the cup holder LED's (the only lights i have installed as of today).

This is the finished circuit. I already mounted it, so thats why the picture is bad. I mounted it up under the driver side foot well. There is a large open space to mount this board using velcro to the carpeted area.

And here is a bad picture of the cup holder LED"s, it's hard to get a good shot. The black thing separating the two blue led's in the picture is that removable piece in the cup holder.

I hope this posts. And tomorrow i am going to install the foot well lights (hopefully) and add a heat sink to the circuit board.

Looks like some solid work Dart. I see some transistors, resistors, caps, and some logic gates. Correct? That touch button looks awesome!

Yep, there are two relays on the bottom side of the circuit (the one flaw, i made the PCB wrong, but it still works great.) Thanks alot.
