Trd Cai

I was at the dealer buying a part this weekend and saw they had the TRD CAI on sale, but I called today and they said it was for just the sequoia and the tundra. They want $376.00 for the tacoma and the sale for the tundra one was $276.00. so he told me this and I told him I'm looking at the true CAI by URD and he said it would void my warranty if it was not the TRD model, not just the warranty on the intake but the complete warranty. I laughed at him and said sure it does and he said that's what they had been told.

Don't think any intake will void your warrany, but if you want the trd, but it here.

According to TRD Parts 4 U, it voids the warranty, not sure which part of it voids, but probably the intake part of the warranty

I'll be waiting for the warranty to wear out to get one of these.

I just talked to my salesman at the dealer (who was also a manager) on the phone about this.

He told me that since it is a Toyota part and if they install it it would not void any warranty.

I think your response is going to vary from dealer to dealer.

bottom line is that you probly need them to put them in writting to honor it.

I'll check on the cost of instal soon. I'm thinking of getting the exhaust too, and that part is a little above my experience for wrenching myself, so I was going to have them do both parts at once.

Just do the install yourself. It will save you alot of money. I knew nothing when I put my exhaust and intake in. I actually had to go to a friend's house to borrow tools. Exhaust is two bolts and a couple rubber hangers. If you get the TRD CAI, it has step by step pictures to install.

your dealer would have to prove that you installing a CAI directly caused whatever broke on your truck. There's a law about it, dealers just don't like doing warranty work and would try at all cost to avoid it because they don't make any money from it. Say you installed and intake but your gears in your rear diff get all messed up, i highly doubt it was from the CAI, and the dealer would have to prove that the CAI was the problem
