I need brakes!! Advice needed..

Took my baby in to the Toyota stealership yesterday..oil change and alignment..
(needed both after runnin her hard at the beach)

I only have 20% of my front brakes left-2mm of pad..

I would like to get slotted and cross drilled rotors to replace the stock POS rotors I have..

And..I have no idea what performance brake pads to get..

Obviously my issue is I like to go fast..and brake hard..and I'm payin for it now..after 32,000 miles..

So if you could point me in the right direction..possibly a web site with some good products..any companies that will hook it up..

Thanks bros..wheel on..

I would look at AJ-USA. I honestly think you can't go wrong with either the Hawk or EBC pads.

If you're not having brake performance issues (like fade), then you don't need "performance" brake rotors. New rotors will not likely improve the pad wear (though new pads might), and they certainly won't improve the tire wear that the "go fast and brake hard" also bring.

OTOH, if you like the looks or the warm fuzzy feeling of having higher performance brakes in case you're towing a 3500 lb trailer at 75 mph when you realize you're cresting a hill with a very steep grade ahead of you, then it sounds like a plan.

^ Yeah I've had Powerslots in the past and they've always held up very nicely. You might just want to stick to slotted instead of cross-drilled. I've had cross drilled rotors on previous vehicles and they always cracked after some time.

Hawk pads are a good bet as well.

I've never heard anything bad about the Powerslots, although I've never heard anything bad about EBC either lol. A few guys on ttora have the powerslot & hawk combo, and seem to really like them. I think PB has the EBC rotors, but I could be mistaken, I would pm him or wait for him to chime in with his opinion.

Don't get drilled. They'll crack. Just get slotted & dimpled, or just slotted. Here's my brakes. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t171893.html

BTW, I got some nice drum shoes from www.wheelersoffroad.com but I haven't installed them yet. I don't really need new shoes yet. That's the only place that I have seen aftermarket drum shoes. I think they're made by Centric?
