Amp Mounting Question..

Did a search but didn't find a good answer

What is the best way to mount my amplifiers under my seats? I'm getting ready to put my Rockford 200X2 and Power 500A2 under my seats....what type of screws should I use? Any guess's on the lenght...I'd hate to go to long and find something under the truck!

Thanks

FInd some simple sheet metal screws, about an inchif your paranoid.

Also, its not like its hard to crawl under the truck and look to see if there might be anything in the way.

Either drywall screws or use T-nuts.

Drill a hole and put the T-nut on the inside of the box. then you use a bolt through the hole to the T-nut and screw it tight. The nut has little sharp feet that dig into the box itself and grip it.

If you want to do it the best way. Get 1/2" MDF. Bolt that down to the floor of the truck using rubber lined washers with bolts and nuts. Silcone on both sides to prevent rust or water from entering.

Then use T nuts on the bottom of the MDF and bolt the amp to the MDF.

You will need to go with less taller amps in order to clear the seat though so keep that in mind when picking out an amp if you go this route.
