URD Y - Pipe

Anyone have the Y-pipe installed? Was wondering if it is a worthy investment for my 05' 4x4 Taco. I already have an intake and a Gibson stainless cat-back exhaust. Anyone notice a difference in power after removing the 2 rear cats? I think the Y - pipe which removes the 2 rear cats might wake up my gibson exhaust. Kind of weird, My exhaust used to sound louder, now it is pretty quiet . Thanks in advance. . .

I am wondering the same thing as you. Is it really worth the money? I think Pb has it installed though.

Sure looks like it would be a nice addition to the exhaust setup. It must help, especially removing the 2 rear cats in the process.

when they first came out they were 100$ cheaper....I got one then and really like it, its high quality stuff. I'd get a custom one made at an exhaust shop now tho...

Easy install?

Any issues with heat rising to the oil pan? Is it a good idea to put some of that header wrap stuff on the pipe under the oil pan? Looks easy to install. . .

Not sure many ppl have it on their 4x4s or if wrapping is really beneficial. As far as ease of install....it's a lot harder to take the stock pipe off than put the new one on. Get some pb blaster and let it soak the night before you start.

I have a feeling that this y - pipe is worth the money.

If your looking for a performance boost look into the C2C headers that have been recently released. For about the same money they are a far better.http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t195712.html

I'm not sure about those headers, and I'm also not sure I want to muck around with the foward cats and simulators and all. The rear cats are no big loss since they don't trigger any codes when you dump them. I'm thinking about the URD Y-Pipe, JBA headers, maybe stainless high flow cats for the front and keep my gibson catback exhaust for now. How's that sound?

I have the Y-pipe. Check my CarDomain. It's real nice, and improved performance, but it is expensive compared to some other performance mods. I would probably put it toward the bottom of the "Stuff I Need To Buy List"

Did you notice a gain in power after installing the Y pipe? I'm guessing it must help out some.

Pb, if I remember correctly, you bought the intake/catback/MAF calibrator/y-pipe together? Or did you get the y-pipe separately? Can you give an honest opinion on order? (I know they all work hand and hand) but I need to buy one thing at a time... or was it an all at once thing?

I did the Y-pipe last. I would get the CAI first, MAF, then Exhaust, then Y-pipe, then fine tune the MAF.
