Quick Question - Installing running boards

I finally got around to getting a set of the Toyota black OEM running boards for my '06 tacoma. Should I use a little amount of some type of lubricant on the frame or around the bolt holes when I fasten these, or just bolt them straight on? I imagine I should just bolt them straight on, but thought I would ask.

Thanks!

If the holes have been open to the elements for a while I would use a lube then run a bolt in the hole b4 torque anything. My 2 cents

If they're like mine, the bolts that came with them have a blue Loctite-type material pre-applied to them. Wouldn't greasing the holes decrease the effectiveness of this?

If the truck hasn't had any sort of steps on it before, the holes should still be covered with the plugs and thus hopefully are clean.

Yes, the holes should have plugs in them. If they don't I'd blow them out with compressed air and put a little spark plug anti seize on the bolt threads just for preventetive measures.
