Calling lifted tacomas

I am researching the 4x4 double cab tacoma..2006+

I am interested in what kind of mileage you are getting with a lift and bigger tires. Whatever I buy next I plan on lifting it. I've done research on lifts for the newer tacoma. For now 6" procomp lift seems like the one for me with 35x12x5 tires.

If you guys could post MPG and what kind of fuel you use that would be cool. thanks!

I say dont worry about the gas mileage. If you're gonna lift a truck and throw sum big tires on it, you're gonna have sucky mileage anyways. Tacomas dont have great gas mileage to begin with. Once you buy it, you'll be happy with it and you won't mind throwing in gas when you need to.

DR coilovers front/ AAL rear to give 2.75F/1.5R inches of lift. 285/75/16 BFG ATs.

She got 19mpg with 50/50 city/hwy before the lift.

Last tank with the lift and tires was 16.5mpg 50/50 city/hwy driving. All of that is on 87 octane gas.

rondog, with the size of tire you just mentioned, i can't believe you would even ask a question about gas mileage. because it wil SUCK with tires that big. very, very few people on this forum run tires that big on the 05+ tacos. so you won't get much relevant comparisons that will apply to you. i will GUESS that with 35's, you'll get 12-14 mpg.

+1 Not to mention huge power loss (w/o regearing) and increased braking distance. I can't imagine wheeling with 35's and stock gears. You're going to have to compensate with throttle, and those big tires + stock gears + skinny pedal = something broken.

Im sorry that was a typo. I meant 35x12.5

But then again thats not my final decision. I have a 3" lift right now on my ranger with 32s and I thought throwing a 6" lift on ide have to compensate for the height. Maybe 35s isnt the route I want to take.

And yes I know I will get bad gas mileage no matter what truck I lift, but like I said I am just doing research at this point. I dont intend on buying until probably january so there is no reason to ask what kind of mileage people are getting on these trucks. Ive never owned a toyota so I dont think this was a bad question at all.
