Clarion equipment

I recently put the music moose dual 10" sub box in my DC and I used some SONY subs I had from my previous car. The amp I have is stable to 1 ohm so I can push it to 500 watts per speaker if I can find 10 inch subs that can handle that power and still fit the mounting depth. I found these from Clarion

PXW1052

I am just not too familiar with there stuff. I know they are expensive, but are they good?

i'm not a big fan of clarion. but that's just an opinion. i prefer jl audio. just because your amp CAN put out 500 watts, doesn't mean you have to. i'm sure the sound quality will be better with less anyways.

I also like JL, but they don't make a sub that I can mount in my box and still handle a lot of power. I know I don't have to push the subs to 500, but it just seems like a waste to be able to take the amp down to 1 ohm and get all I can out of it. Right now the amp is at a 2 ohm load so it is only putting out 250 per sub and it sounds a little weak. I do still have the factory head unit so changing that should make a difference. I was just hoping for a little more punch. Just curious why do you feel the sound quality will be better with less watts? Most distortion in from lack of power.

off topic how do you like you cooper STT's? They look like a nice tire.
