Total Chaos UCA Install Question

Might have been answered before, but I couldn't find it through the search...

Getting ready to install the TC UCAs, that have been sittin in the bed of my truck, this weekend. Was looking at the truck on the lift, and was wondering how the hell you're supposed to get that big bolt out. Read the instructions for the TC UCAs and it says to just bend the inner fender out of the way, and then bend it back... is that what you all did? Seems like its the only way though doesn't sound too promising.

Thanks, sorry if its been answered and I was unable to find it. I'm a noob!

You need to use a big water pump plier and bend the inner fender outwards, so you can extract the bolt.

There's also some other stuff that you'll want to pull out of the way too. Go ahead and take your battery out, and I believe there are some electrical and fluid lines (don't remember which ones) that you'll want to watch out for. It helped me to have someone underneath tapping the bolt out and someone at the engine bay making sure everything stayed out of the way.

For both sides, pop the electrical conduit clips from the fenderwell side.
There's a bracket under the battery to remove.
On the passenger side, there's a bracket (at the radiator wall) for the A/C line to remove so you can manipulate that A/C line and the in line sensor. Also a clip to push from the fenderwell side.
I also bought new push clips for those tar paper like splash guards on either side of the UCA's. They looked kind of ragged after removing them.

If water pump pliers are channel locks then, yeah use them.

I could do this in my sleep now,
Keezer

Thanks for clearing up my post, Keezer. You did that install so many times, you probably see those bolts in your sleep!

I'm installing these this weekend but can't find teflon grease anywhere, where are you getting yours?

One more thing, DR coilovers come preset to 2" of lift? What does that equal for a 4 cyl reg cab?
