Question about TC UCAs.

I just put my UCAs in today, and I noticed the truck is a LOT stiffer in the front. Could I have over-tightened the long bolt? Do I need to grease them more? Or, is this all normal?

Did you have your truck aligned yet? If not, Try getting your alignment done. Because of the change in the angle it may have changed the ride characteristics.

As long as you greased it up prior to install and tightened it to 85 ft lbs. torque. It should be O.K.

Good Luck!

Yeah, it's possible to overtighten it. I had mine too tight. I loosened it and the ride felt better. Don't tighten it so much that you distort the bushings.

I've heard you should grease them every time you rotate your tires.

I plan on doing it at each oil change, just to see how much grease they take.

I've noticed some grease oozed out after the first off road day, then the drivers side started to creak a little.

I think the torque spec on the OE UCAs is 85ft/lb so that's what I tightened mine to and the bushings didn't distort.

If you loosened yours, what did you re-torque them to? My ride seems just a little stiff in the front, but I thought it might be because I cranked the DR Coilovers above 2.5 inch lift.

Thoughts?

Did you install the coil-overs and the UCA's at the same time, or did have the coiovers on for a bit, then install the UCA's.
If it was the 1st scenario, then it's probably the result of the coilovers. The more you crank them down, the stiffer they will become since you are limiting the coilover travel and compressing the spring. If you are still having problems, time to start dating a heffer

I tried dating a heffer, didn't help. Those DR Coilovers are T U F F!

I installed both at the same time. I'm wondering what torque Pb tightened his to.
Think 75 ft/lbs would be safe? At least for a trial?

5hrs bouncing around in a rock garden didn't seem to loosen anything up.
