Well hello folks =) Had a fun ride with the Taco, but I am getting a company vehicle now to drive in the field and am getting more time behind a desk now, so, I will be trading in the Taco. I would keep it, but the dismal gas mileage coupled with warranty issues that the dealer can't resolve after 6+ times in the shop ( see windshield kazoo ), I've decided to cut and run.
I'll be buying a 2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6L DI. Waiting til a few more are on the lot. Have fun with your trucks guys, and take care.

All relative I guess....my GTI got about the same as my new Taco...20mpg.
The GTI is "supposed" to get much better than 20 but who can drive a GTI without putting your foot into it? I would think the same thing applies to a CTS...lol

very good point 1/2 the gas milage problems peep have, is there own driving habbits...
with the CTS-V i would think your gas milage would be horrible too.. sam reason.
Can't affoard a CTS-V unfortunately, unless ya want to donate some dough to my pay-pal account
The new CTS DI gets 25 on the highway, which is 9-10mpg more than my truck is getting @ 65mph and driving like a grandmothers grandma otherwise. I shift below 2k RPM consistently, usually around 1500-1600. Thats a fair improvement in my book. Otherwise, I'm just not needing a truck anymore.

25 on the highway according to the window sticker. how did the window sticker on the tacoma compare to real world driving?

Taco wasn't anywhere close. New EPA gas mileage estimates are far more stringent starting a couple of months ago, so any new vehicle sticker you see should be a fairly accurate representative of actual driving averages.

The modifications you made are what ruined your mpg. I get 25 hwy with my Taco and get an average of 22 with every tank. I think the caddy will not get much more if any. But you don't buy a caddy for mpg. You buy it for creature comfort, something the Taco (especially a lifted one) does not specialize in.
