Help! Rack System For Camper Shell

Those of you who have a rack system on their camper shell could you please tell me what is the maximum load you can carry? I had the oem racks took off because they only support 100 lbs. Then looked into the Yakima Q system only to findout that they also only support 100lbs because of the way they secure to the cab. I have an A.R.E - Z series camper shell, and have been told that with a rack system it can hold up to 180 lbs. Much better and good enough to support 4 kayaks. I want to be sure before investing $350 bucks on it.

Thanks in advance.

Go with Yakima tracks, and bars. I'd have no worries about putting 200 lbs on my rack. Yakima Rack (now installed)

There are several factors that come into play when rating the load you can put on top of your camper.
1) How strong is the rack
2) How strong is the shell
3) Bumps on the road while driving
4) Underrated to protect the interest of the dealer

My dealer said my max load is 100 pounds. I figure I can go above that, but I'd better be careful to distribute the load evenly and take it easy on the bumps and corners.

I have the Century mid-rise cap.
