I'm interested in this...and the $300 price tag doesn't bother me if it works correctly. I just bought the new Scosche Toyota ipod integration kit. It works decent...but not perfect. It allows you to use the stock stereo to navigate the ipod, but gets stuck now and then, and sometimes skips around a little...it doesn't allow controls from the steering wheel (other than volume). It does have text, but limited. I'd say its a little "buggy" now...and maybe it will get an update soon. I'm going to call and see if I got a lemon, or if this is the expected way it works. It does give you a AUX input as well, and allows the use of XM radio also (so three inputs total).
$300 is a lot money for ipod integration to a factory stereo. The fact is people complain about every single freakin' ipod solution out there, literally. This will be nothing new. It won't be perfect like every other integration on the market and complaining will ensue.
I got a great deal on an Alpine HU with an ipod cable, and the damn thing works near flawless. Plus, the sound quality of it is far above that of the factory stereo. why bother with a factory stereo? they stink
As it says in your link and this, it will be available for all current Toyota and Lexus models, which the "current" gen Tacomas (our's) fall under.
I am excited about this. OEM parts can always be had for less than list if you just look. I am interested to see how well this works, since what it claims to do is better than what is out there.
The more I like at the different items and debate, the more I consider just going with an Alpine unit that does all the same things, all while sounding/looking better, and essentially costing the same, or maybe a little more.
no thanks. Ill stick with my $50 df-toy. I dont care if it's oem or not, $300 bucks is ridiculous for aux input...
Agreed, what a bunch of crap....$300! Ahhhh it says Apple on it.....in that case. Why most people go with Ipod? I'm not bashing anyone, just
I have Creative brand and love it.
I also use the DF-Toy
