Help - Cv Boot

When doing my first oil change I noticed grease in the passenger side front wheel well and on my lower control arm. It appears to be CV boot grease, so I checked the boot and the spring. There was no tear and the CV boot clamps were fine. I also checked the bushings and they all seem OK.

Only thing done to truck was new font struts to level front end and an alignment. Have 32in tires on front.

Any ideas?? Could the techs grease the front when doing alignment and it is spitting out? I could not find anything when I inspected it? Thanks.

Did you check the inner boots as well? There's nothing that I can think of that would require more grease, so I think you are on the right track looking for a tear.

6shooter,

Does the tie rod/bushing hold that much grease in it? Does the tie rod get a constant feed or is the the grease only in the bushing?

Also, did they cover it under warranty. Did they give you any problem because of your lift work?

It's just packed with grease. If you hit it right some grease will squeeze out around the edge.

also, i work for toyota so i have an unfair advantage when i comes to the question of warrantable or not - but in general, most dealerships should not give you any grief about it.
