Tailgates manufactured after 02/07

Here's a picture of a tailgate on a 2007 manufactured 08/07:



I don't see any evidence that the Tailgate TSB was performed. The TSB refers to 2006 and 2007 Tacoma's. Unless the tailgate vendor made a manufacturing change sometime during 07, the 07's need the TSB too.

I don't think you'll be able to judge whether or not the TSB was performed by only taking off the top cover. Take picture with the main cover off. I can take a picture of mine (without the TSB) for a comparison.

The pre-TSB tailgates are hollow and look just like this 06 Tacoma...

If the TSB was done, bolts are visible from the top. I've removed the top cover too and it looks like the others pictured above.

The "big deal" is that if you actually use the vehicle like a truck, the tailgates crumple like a wet papersack.

If you bring the tailgate to the dealer will they give you another one or add supports to it?

Some may make the repair some refuse and say the tailgate has to be damaged.
