Alternator ???

What is the standard warranty for the alternator on our trucks?
Also what is the life expectancy?

My experience with the Japan built trucks is the brushes will make it to about 150K. Replace them and your good for another 150K.

Don't know about the warranty.

I would think it would fall under powertrain warranty, 5/60 ??

no. 3 year/36k miles.
i have never had alternator troubles in any of my toyota trucks even ones with 200k+ miles.
also, don't see a high volume of alternator issues working for toyota either (for the past 8 years or so)

Yeah my last truck (99 taco w/ 140k)did not have an issue. I just wanted a little input cause something is going and I hope it's just my battery. Also any input on a new battery I know Optima's have a good rep.

+1 on it only being covered under the 3 year 36k warranty. Should last beyond 100k, but there is always the chance of a faulty one. A friend of mine had his power steering pump go at around 10k on his 2006.
