Warranty

What do I do about getting an extended warranty and how much should it cost? Also can you add one at any point i.e. 40,000 miles in.

Most places only allow you to add one if you are still in the factory warranty (i.e. less than 36k miles).

I found one guy on another forum that worked for a dealership and is selling them cheap.

Also, try warrantydirect.com

Cool

My dealer wanted $1200.00 for 100K miles and it was directly with them. after the factory warranty expires, I didn't wanted to be married to dealer for such a long time so I declined the offer, later I heard that most of those aftermarket warranties have so many exclusions that you would end up screwed at the end of the road.

If you decide to go for it, make sure you ask as many questions as you can think of and beware of the exclusions IE: electrical parts, labor not included, modified vehicle, ect.

i have heard and read of a guy that sells the toyota warranty for $800 till 100k.

if you keep searching youll find what im talking about.

im thinking of buying extended warranty on the tacoma and camry close to 3yrs or 36k miles.

the other thing is some extended warranty companies do suck while others are much better.
