Aries Nerf Bars??

I installed my aries nerf bars and I seem to have problem after problem with them. First, when i tried to bolt on the brackets, the holes that hold the front ones on were too close together so i had to grind some of the metal off the bracket so the holes would line up with the bolts. Then i had an impossible time getting the holes on the actual bar to line up with the brackets on the truck. Now they will not level at all.... The front of the bars are sitting a lot higher than the rear. In fact, on the passenger's side they are actually making contact with the cab. Any ideas? Here are pics:

So this is a common problem? I'm still dealing with the customer service. I called Aries and they put me on hold and then the phone suddenly started ringing again and I got some voicemail . I'm starting to get frustrated

I have the Aries stainless steel nerfs that are shaped just like the ones pictured. I didn't have a problem with the brackets while installing them but they do sit higher in the front than in the rear but did not touch the cab.

I liked the idea of stainless steel and they shine up as nice as chrome but I have to live with the fact they are not straight across the bottom of the truck.

I put a jack under the rear bracket and put as much pressure on it as I dared. That straightened things up a little but I didn't have the kahoonies to go all the way.

I can certainly understand why they are not as popular as some of the other brands.

How'd the jack straighten it up? Do you have any pics of yours? Thanks

Sorry, no pictures but by putting upward pressure on the rear mounting bracket, it slightly bent the mounting point thus forcing the bar up a little. Like I said, I didn't go far with it because I didn't know how much the underbody of the truck where the bracket is attached, could take.

Well... If they didn't sit level that would be one thing... But they are rubbing against the front of the cab.. damaging my truck. I called Aries about my problem and emailed them twice and no response.... its been 3 days... I give up. I'll never buy any of this shit from them again for sure. I just decided to take the bars off and cut my losses
