Suspension questions

I've been searching and reading as much as possible. I've been considering replacing my damaged stock bumper with the soon to be released AllPro plate bumper. I've been told the weight of the bumper plus a future winch will cause the front of the truck to dip, appox. 100lbs combined. I have an '07 AC 2WD Prerunner. I'm trying to determine what's going to be the correct choice for compensating for the added weight. I wouldn't mind a small lift to the truck but I'm trying to not stiffen the ride due to all the highway driving I do.

If those who are more experienced could lend some advice I'd appreciate it. As I've been trying to research whether to go with just new springs or coilovers or what. I do go into the desert but stay off the rougher paths and deeper sand. I try to stay out of the area's I know a 2WD shouldn't be. I leave the hardcore stuff to my quad.

Thanks for the help fella's and I apologize if I'm not very clear.

for the long run, you really should spend the money on DR or King coilovers. but honestly, do you need a heavy duty bumper and winch for a vehicle you admit won't see hardcore wheeling?? maybe you need the winch for something else, but from what you have said, i wouldn't get the bumper/winch

I would look for a set of coil springs in a 650-700# spring rating.

I will sell you my ARB bumper for cheap.

Since the question is out there. i have another.

TRD Off Road package has an Off Road suspension.
TRD Sport has a Sport Suspension.

What is the difference? I look at the setups in both packages, but they look the same. But are they?

Opinions are like Buttholes....Everyone has one! They all can stink at one time or another!
Just because you have one doesn't mean you have to act like one!
Have you hugged your kids today?

IIRC, one (sport) is a progressive spring, the other is not. I could be wrong.

Other way around, the OR is the progressive spring, and why am I not surprised that you are trying to sell your ARB.

Hey TucsonTRD:
I'd like to get a winch because I do get stuck from time to time here in the desert. I've used my quad loading ramps in the past, which have been a life saver, but the winch would be a benefit if others are stuck and I'm hanging back.
I was checking out your cardomain page, nice ride. Did the Toytec lift make you highway or street ride any stiffer? Your truck has a nice stance and is more to the height I'm used to.

Hey Bill, how come your selling you ARB?

So for the weight compensation I could get away with just replacing the front springs? No need to replace the shocks? I'd like to add a lift, probably 2-3", nothing extreme. But I'm just trying to get as much info as possibly before I take the plunge$$

I want a bumper with no upper hoops. I just want a cleaner look is all.

Ah. That is the reason I like the Allpro. It has modular hoops. Plus the entire bumper is modular so shipping is less and replacing a damaged section doesn't mean I have to buy a whole new bumper.

I just want to be able to go deep into the desert or country and have the tools to rescue myself. I'm going on a weekend trip soon, taking the quad, deep into the desert and then leaving the trucks and riding the quads the rest of the way up into the mountains.
