Torque converter pretty tight for our trucks?

I have the DC prerunner auto. I notice that this truck has a tighter torque converter compared to other vehicles with auto tranny. This is most noticeable when starting the truck up and putting it in gear. The truck moves with ease with no need to push the gas pedal. It can get up to 10 mph easy just in idle. Has anyone else noticed this?
I wonder what is the lowest mph the converter will lock up? Is converter lockup basicly a sixth gear?

well, when you first start it up as you described, the rpms are much higher until it warms up. so if you're starting it up and putting it into gear right after, it will crawl pretty good i would imagine because the rpm's are so much higher than they are any other time.

The torque converter has been discussed recently. I believe, the torque converter is the culprit for the many of us who have reported the infamous "lurching" or sudden forward acceleration. . The converter does not appear to be releasing or bypassing at low idle correctly(torque lock-up). Hopefully, with the several dozen + Tacoma owners complaining about this...Toyota will come up with a fix.

As far as the high idle at start-up...this is designed strictly for emissions. The quicker the catalytic converter heats up... the less pollution.
