PIAA vs KC Lights

Looked around and was curious what people's thoughts were regarding fog lights. Pros and cons vs these two manufactures. Cant decide which lights I want. Any suggestions and opinions are appriciated

There have been previous threads on this. PIAA lights offer better quality and slightly better performance. Also, I personally think they look better. Whether or not this justifies the much higher price of the PIAAs is a personal choice. When you get to the PIAA price level, there are also a couple of other very good aux. light choices in that range.

I'm very happy with my PIAA 525s.

I've had a set of PIAA's for almost 7 years now.
I bought them back in 2000 and put them on my 96 tacoma.

They're currently on my jeep

They don't have a lot of actually *ON* time. These are driving lights which are legally only allowed to be on with the high beams. I just don't use highbeams as much. They're GREAT lights and illiminate awesome.

After 7 years - they've got some rust spots around the edges of the metal casing. The glass is still clear with no scratches and I've never had a problem with water getting inside either - even after all that mud. Because of the rust (and their age) - these are on the jeep.
For the truck - I'd buy a new set in a heartbeat!!

If you go with the higher end KC, I think they offer a better package of options. My lights in paticular are larger at 8" with stainless steel under thick black powdercoat (will never rust) The fit and finish on them out of the box is incredible. KC lights also carry a 23 year waranty.

Piaa's are nice, but they did not offer a light that I was interested in, plus it seems like everyone has them. For some reason I look at them more as a "tuner" type mfg.

I have no experience with PIAA's fog lights but I do have 4 80 series off road lights that were on my first Tacoma that was a 97' and I am now preparing to put them on my 07' Tacoma. They were on the 97' for 4 years and I had no problems at all with them. This would include all night off road runs where they were on 8 to 10 hours straight, I used them in sub zero snow conditions at high altitudes in the laguna mountains of San Diego and Big Bear mountain, They were in desert heat of 100 plus degrees countless times, ocean water, river water and lake water and they never gave me a single problem. They were as durable as my Tacoma. They were expensive as a son of a gun but they were well worth the money!

Gforce, I have to disagree with the tuner comment. More trucks use them in the Baja 1000 over any other off road light brand. Now maybe for fog lights they might be popular on ricer cars but I think that is more because of their quality over anything else.
