Question Access cab roof rack anyone?

I dont recall anyone having one? Does anyone know if the double cab kits will fit the access cab?

no, the double cab ones will not fit. they are to long to start with and you can't cut them or anything because of the way the cross bars fold to the sides. trust me, i've looked into it a lot-i really wanted the factory one. you have several aftermarket choices available though.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Never got to tell anybody that before. I've posted them before, but here again are the pictures of my Thule roof rack on my access cab (using for both bike and kayaks...if it weren't for the kayaks, I would've put tracks on my Undercover.)

um... isn't this what we have beds for?

I would feel much safer either putting the item in my bed or using some sort of bed rack to hold it.
Putting something on the roof of a truck with a bed long enough to hold said item is kinda silly.

Looks good. Do you think it would hold like 300 pounds of lumber?

^ Those cross bars look like they're only 2 feet apart (if that). I wouldn't try to balance 300 pounds of lumber on something that small. You'd be better off getting one of those load extenders that plugs into your hitch. That way you can support the load properly in the bed.

I've got a Yakima that I haven't installed yet.

I have to make sure it'll clear the garage safely.

If memory serves me right, the system on an access cab is only rated at 200 - 250 lbs. (unless you get the goal post for the trailer hitch, and then it should be good to go).

...and yes, the fork is a Cannondale Lefty. The fork is only on the left side of the wheel. Unfortunately, since I can't easily remove the front wheel (because of the fork) it won't fit under the Undercover so I have to toss it up on the roof rack. Love the bike, but just bought a fully ridgid Haro Mary SS (Single Speed) to torture myself a little more.

No problem...glad I could actually contribute something instead of mooching off of everybody else's wealth of knowledge.

Ok so thule and Yakima use the clips that go into the upper dor jam area. Are there any that actually use the factory track locations?

I would love just one rack on my cab roof so I can put a 16'-18' ladder on my truck. I cant seem to find just one Yakima rack abd bar to match the ones on my ARE cap
