"DO NOT use these oils in engines other than those listed above. These low-viscosity oils cannot maintain lubrication effectiveness in engines with older designs and could result in smoke emissions from the tailpipe and/or unusual engine noise."
I realize that our engines are listed -- however, as the only benefit is a slight mpg increase, I'll stick with 5W-30, thank you.
I use Valvoline Syn Power 5W-30 in both my rigs and I have had no problems. Stick with the 5W-30. Just my .02
+1 Same here.
I service cars & trucks all day long and i tell ya what, that 5w20 is like water. Synthetic 5w20 is even worse!!! I'll keep some viscostiy in my motor...lol

Yes, this TSB is for the '07 V6. I have the same engine but based on the comments above I think I am going to stick with 5w-30. Here is a link to the engine. we have the 1GR-FE

dino 5w20 and syn 5w20 are different viscosity? they're not both 5w20?
how come dudes here disagree with Toyota's recommendation to use 5w20? i know about "they only tell you to do that to achieve better fuel efficiency ratings". but, didn't they build the truck and know what is best for it more than we do in web world?
