i know these things exist, i just cant find a place that cells them, anyone know of an online dealer?
this is my first post, and i dont have the tacoma yet, but i am going to trade my rubicon in on a prerunner in a few months. i am big time into offroading, and modified trucks, and i really like the new yotas. i probably wont do much wheeling in the tacoma, as i plann to start a jeep cj project for that purpose, but i will be hauling a fourwheeler around with it. i will probably do the toytec 3" lift and some 33's on 17's, but i just want to see all the options for lifting first. i plan to lift it as soon as i get it home form the dealer. seriously, like that day. i want the lift, and wheels/tires on hand in the garage before i get it home. any help will be much appreciated.
i want the 2 wheel drive prerunner, because i know im not gonna take a brand new truck rockcrawling, and i plan to buy a cj as a major project. the cj will be completely upgraded beyond what a rubicon has. the toyota will be my daily driver, and i just dont need 4wd in SC. i really cant afford the 4wd with all of the other things i have planned too. you see i am recently divorced, so now i am going to do all of the things i always wanted to do, but couldnt because i was married. things like buy a boat, build my dream cj, build a sandrail, and start using all of those things as much as i want to. the prerunner just fits into the equation better.
a lift spindle is a new knuckle or spindle for a 2wd truck that is relocated downward in relation to the original placement. this in effect lifts the vehicle. i saw a diy post on this board, that mentioned them being available through a company called Allied, but i cant find them for sale on the net.
anyway, hope that clears up why i want the prerunner. i just dont need 4wd in the truck, and i am making a decision to spend the added cash of a 4wd elsewhere. but thanks alot for the interest and the suggestion. if i werent into jeeps too, i would have said the exact same thing...
i know what you are talking about, but for the most part, longer spindles just make up for steering geometry. depending on the size lift you want, you probably won't need them.

come on, its that that hard to search google is it?? found this in less than 10 sec!! here is the site. looks like it hasnt been updated in a little while, best bet is to give them a call and see whats up. i have read of a few guys running them, so i know they are making them.
suggestion, get the tow package and the V6 no matter what! a rear locker comes on the offroad package, and a limited slip comes on the sport package, depending on your needs for a rear locker.

UCA's are supposedly what is used for geometry correction, the spindles are used for lift on 2wd trucks, and shouldnt require the need for geometry correction since all you are moving is the hub. all steering components should stay put. anyway, i did the old yahoo search, and got no results. didnt figure google would be any different. but thanks for pointing me in the right direction. i had hoped there would be some pricing, but evidently not...guess ill have to call them up to find out.
oh yeah v6 and tow package are a gaurantee! i would never buy a truck without at least having those 2 options. i might get the sport package, but i dont know if i need the limited slip or not, just depends on what they have on the lot, and what kinda deal they come up with. i know i dont need the trd package, but i do want the sr5 as this will be my DD, and some luxury is nice... thanks for all the input guys!!!
in themselves, replacing the spindles doesn't change the steering or suspension geometry. but you will still need an alignment afterwards. as things tend to be off a little bit after disconnecting and reconnecting tie rods, ball joints, etc.
sorry to hear about the divorce, but it sure sounds like you made off better than 99.9% of men that get divorced. most men are able to finally do what they want after a divorce, but they can no longer afford to do so. with all the things you listed, money doesn't seem to be too tight. congrats
yeah its not hard to come out on top when your wife gets pregnant while youve been serving in korea for the last 9 months... she lost her mind, and flushed my life down the tubes with it, but things have been getting a little better, and im not gonna get screwed financially, so to h3!! with it...hopefully when i rotate back to the world i can start my life over and move on...
