6" lifts...Fabtech vs. Procomp

I haven't seen a thread here that compared and contrasted both of these lifts so I figured I would start one. I've been thinking about getting a 6" lift because the 3 is getting kind f boring. In general, the 3" lift is way more popular here on TN so the 6" isn't talked about all that much. But tell what you know about these two products:

Fabtech:

Ok, I have a pre runner.

Is it true that with the fabtech lift, you need to cut the crossmember?

Is it true that with the pro comp lift, you don't need to cut the crossmember?

Why would you have to cut the cross member if it's 2WD? There's no front drive shaft to lower, thus no need to cut the cross member.

ProComp does not require cutting the crossmember on 2WD models.

Well I went to a few shops and they said they gotta cut the cross member even though its a 2wd. Thats what was stopping me from getting a 6" lift.

I have to agree about the 3in lift getting boring after a while. it feels like i'm riding a stock height all over again. i need that fix, but the 6in is expensive.

Don't be a bro-doc. Resist the urge. I beat he ish outta my truck, but I'd be dammned if I'd cut on the frame just for a lift kit. Save cutting on the frame for a solid front axle.

I think that with the 2wd procomp you do have to cut the cross memeber. Where is you lower control arm going to mount to? it needs to be cut and replaced with a new cross. The new spindals are taller, that is where you get your lift from. If you did not lower the cross memeber then the stock control are would be angled down and that is bad.
