low volume on metra ipod adapter

Anyone else have the Metra aux/ipod adapter? Works great, but the volume seems to be about 10 "notches" lower than the CD volume. Maybe I just listen to my MP3 player with the volume very low?

Probably a dumb question, but have you tried turning up the volume on the iPod? Also, make sure that the connections are secure all around.

It would be nice if the same volume worked for both the headphones and aux input, but I guess that's asking too much out of a $50 adapter. Sounds pretty decent though...

are your mp3 files low bitrate like 128kbps? If so, they will sound like shit on anything other than headphones. don't expect anything remotely close to cd quality with the ipod played through an adapter.
