Trying to pull down overhaed console

I searched and what little I found said to just unscrew the 1 screw and pull it down.

Since I am famous for breaking things, I an nervous about how hard I should be pulling.
The headliner seems to be pulling down with it.

Do I move the console before pulling, or just pull straight down?

Thanks,
Michael S.

Did this yesterday.

There are FIVE points supporting the console.

TWO snap-ins at the front.

ONE phillips screw in the sunglass holder.

TWO rear-facing hooks at the back, hooking over the edge of the headliner.

You ain't gonna believe how easy this is.

1. Remove the phillips screw.

2. Pull down on the front of the console until it snaps out.

3. Remove the console with a slight forward motion to clear the hooks.

Toughest part is holding onto the thing while removing the electrical connectors (2).

Just pulled mine down yesterday....

Remove screw and gently pull down on the front of the console. You can pull down slightly on each side at a time and rotate back-n-forth. It'll pop down.
