I have one for my six speed. They really shorten the throws, but I don't think I can shift any faster. I don't know about your tranny but mine is a notchy pos.
Ok, I hate to say it. I guess it shortened it a bit. I personally don't think it was that long to begin with. After installing the URD, I think I could have spent the $100 better, on somethng else. If it wasn't for that special deal which knocked $50 off at the time I bought it, I probably wouldn't have.
I installed a URD short throw in my 2005 Taco about 9 months ago. As I recall, they claim it reduces throw by 40%. In my opinion, not nearly that much. Shifting is a bit smoother and shorter, however. Installation is a snap. I also received prompt responses to questions. I don't know how the URD's performance is vs the Toyota oem; however, it's a hell of a lot cheaper and appears easier to install. Go for it!
It's way different that the six speed. It does reduce the throw by half. The tranny is a notchy bitch, so it is a little stiffer now. Also, be aware, I got the wrong hardware with mine and had to run to the parts store in the middle of the project to get the right bolts. My wife wasn't to happy with that. All in all though, a good purchase. I felt like I was rowing a damn boat before. Now, if I could just make that stupid tranny mount more solid . . . It's also hard to position everything from under the truck. Be careful with the gasket, it tears easily.
It took me for ever because of the aforementioned bolt issue. Plust I had to make a new gasket, because mine ripped. It should probably take about an hour. I paid $130.

WTF. How the hell does it install i thought it was all up in the cab.

I dont know what this dude is talking about. You shouldn't have to go under you truck at all. And unless you have Snicker bars for fingers, there should be no issue tearing any gasket. Tranny mount... more solid....? Its a freakin solid block of aluminum, BOLTED to your transmission... how more solid could it be?
Ok well i guess i will just have to see what it says. Its in priority mail what do you guys think 2 to 3 days wouldnt you think. it only weighs 1.8 pounds. Orderd saturday by tuesday or wendsday wouldnt you think?

Umm, screw you dude. I couldn't reach the back bolts on the tranny unless I was underneath it because the hole in the transmission tunnel is too small. In fact, it took a few minutes of positioning to get the aluminum block through the hole. It would have been easier from the bottom. You have a 6 speed dickhead. The 4cyl is different. And, the gasket is paper thin, so the comment about snickers bars for fingers was uncalled for. What a tool.
